Event recap:
Théo de Ramecourt won the first competition of the 2020 Hydrofoil Pro Tour in La Ventana, Mexico. The Frenchman is determined to defend his championship title from last year. Théo de Ramecourt largely dominated the race, finishing first in 9 out of 13 heats. Here’s what the young Frenchman wrote on this Facebook page:
"I am so happy to win the first stage of the Hydrofoil Pro Tour 2020, at the Ventana, winning 9 out of 13 races. This victory means a lot to me, and it's such a strange and great feeling to see that everything I've done in the last few months has paid off. I'm so happy with the way I've been able to 'push' my equipment to the next level, I've put so much energy into the development of the new generation of Flysurfer kites. Winning this event is the most rewarding thing I could hope for."
Connor Bainbridge from the UK finished 2nd winning the remaining 4 heat and Maxime Nocher from France took the third place.
Germany's Florian Gruber and Benoît Gomez from France completed the top 5.
The next stop of the 2020 Hydrofoil Pro Tour takes place in Montpellier, France from May 30th to June 2nd, during the Festikite!
